English Language Support
Kent is committed to ensuring the very best outcomes for all students. The English Language Support offered at Kent provides all students assistance with English through a range of support options that are designed to strengthen skills in confidence and fluency in the use of the English language. The objective is to assist students with their listening, reading, writing and speaking skills and encourage students to become confident in using English in their everyday lives.
- Individual consultations
- English Workshops
- English Conversation Café
- Online English Resources
These individual consultations provide opportunities for students to receive tailored advice on how to improve their English across a variety of micro and macro skills such as pronunciation, academic grammar and vocabulary, academic reading and writing skills, business English and fluency.
The objective of these workshops is to provide additional support for students who would like opportunities outside their regular classes to practise their English and discover new strategies on how to further improve their fluency.
As a commitment to creating positive, social and inclusive spaces on campus to further facilitate students improving their English, the conversation café has been introduced. In these weekly sessions, students are encouraged to attend and participate in a conversation with their fellow class mates in English in a relaxed and supportive environment.
Kent Students have access to online English support assistance through their Moodle access which is available to them at any time. This is in the form of written documentation and videos.
