Graduation Ceremony

Kent conducts one graduation ceremony annually in December. This event is the official conferral of a student’s award and qualification, the ceremony also marks a celebration of their academic achievements at Kent and is a time to celebrate with staff, family and friends.

The Kent Student Services Unit is responsible for the co-ordination of the Graduation Ceremony and will be providing information to all eligible students who have successfully completed their course of study at the specific times when graduation registration and information is required. Communication will be via email direct with all students eligible to graduate notifying them of the processes required to be completed and how they can receive their completion letter and official transcript.

The Student Services Unit will distribute a Graduation Invitation advising of the date, time and venue for the Graduation Ceremony following the official Conferral of Results. Other information will include a Graduation Invitation Response Form to be completed to inform the Student Services Unit staff of the number of guest tickets required (limit to the number to be advised – sometimes limited to 2 tickets due to the size of the venue) and your Size for fitting of academic regalia (Gown and Trencher) to be available at the Graduation Ceremony venue for you to wear at the Graduation Ceremony. It is important that the Graduation Invitation Response Form is completed and returned by the requested date as failure to return this form as requested may result in being considered ineligible to graduate.

Kent graduands are advised that the Kent Testamur is issued at the Graduation Ceremony. If graduands are unable to attend the Graduation Ceremony and therefore graduate in absentia, the Student Services Unit will provide details on how you can advise of your preference in receiving your Testamur after the Graduation Ceremony by completion of a Student Academic Records Request Form. Graduands may make arrangements to personally collect Testamurs at the Kent Campus at a date after the Graduation Ceremony. Testamurs will only be posted by Registered Post and will incur additional charges.
