LEAD Awards & Alumni Networking Event Recap

The second annual LEAD Awards Ceremony and Kent’s inaugural Alumni Networking Event was held at Kent’s Sydney campus in December 2017. The LEAD Awards Ceremony recognised the hard work and dedication of students who have been a part of the LEAD program for the 2017 calendar year. All students who accumulated 100 LEAD points or more by attending various workshops and events were awarded with a program certificate and transcript for their portfolios. The following Kent students were awarded with a LEAD certificate:

  • Deepesh Mishra
  • Francis Gerard Leachon Ramirez
  • James Ryan Bautista
  • Jemimah Besitula
  • Jenette Causo
  • John Simpa Jatto
  • Ma. Myrvee Ortega
  • Ma. Therese Servitillo
  • Neusa Margarete Da Silva Almas
  • Oanh Thi Kieu Nguyen
  • Tanmay Mollik
  • Urace Raoul Matanguihan Gopela
  • Kim Thien Phoc Nguyen

The Kent LEAD Ambassador of the year was awarded to Margarete Da Silva Almas, who had accumulated the most points throughout the year. Margarete showed unrivalled dedication through her attendance of numerous LEAD workshops, events and volunteering in the community. Very special congratulations to Margarate and her commitment to the LEAD program in 2017. The previous recipient of the LEAD Ambassador of the year award, Myrvee Ortega, also took to the stage to speak about the many benefits she has experienced as an avid LEAD program participant. Both recipients of the award have now earned full time employment at Kent upon their graduation due to their tremendous potential shown while being a part of the LEAD program.

The Alumni Networking Event was combined with the awards ceremony to give current students a chance to network with some of Kent’s success stories upon their graduation. Special mention must go to Erika Lorenzo (Kent Alumni) for sharing her motivating international education story with current students, underlining both the difficulties and highlights of studying abroad in Australia.
