2. Where are you originally from?
I am originally from the Czech Republic. I was born in Brno, the second largest city in the Czech Republic and I am currently residing in Prague, the country’s capital.
3. What did you study at Kent?
I studied Information Technology at Kent Institute Australia in Sydney, Australia.
4. Do you believe your time at Kent adequately prepared you for your current work? Why/ why not?
Thanks to studies at Kent, I improved my English language skills enormously. Currently, I use English on a daily basis in all activities I do, and I enjoy it. Also from my second specialization at Kent, Information Technology, I appreciate a lot of what I learned at Kent, especially I learned to work in an English interface, which is totally different from my local one. Also, I use computer skills on daily basis during international presentations and most of them are also made in English. Since my studies at Kent, I became more skillful and more natural when presenting in English.
5. What advice would you give to students currently studying at Kent?
I would advise not to be afraid and try to socialize as much as possible, not only with school mates, but also with teachers. I remember teachers at Kent were very friendly and sociable.
Also, I would like to advise to take an active part in organizing trips, as there is so much to see and you can have a good time with your friends from school and meet also new ones. During my studies, there were so many international students at Kent, many people from many different countries and we learnt a lot about different cultures and habits. I liked it so much at that time, so I even chose to work within an international company to keep this multi-national environment, which I loved during my studies a lot.
6. What did you love most about studying in Australia?
I loved all experiences I made during my stay and studies in Australia. I learned English language properly and improved my computer skills. I met many interesting people in school, at work and during my travels as well. I could see the wonderful nature in the Red Centre as well as experience life in great cities such as Sydney, Melbourne, Adelaide, Darwin, and Brisbane. And I shouldn’t forget to mention fresh air and beautiful beaches. I spent a really beautiful year in Australia after my university studies in Europe and I hope I can make it back there again someday.
